Ikigai is a special project that goes beyond the conventional urban planning not only for Izhevsk but for all of Russia. It comprises a 15 hectare single enclosed yard without any cars. All parking places are located outside the development area or in the underground parking lots of urban villas.
Medium-rise brick houses. Architecture with Japanese vibes.
Unique amenities inside: cherry orchard where trees carry the names of the residents, a Japanese garden with a teahouse, a glass house.

A new town in a city.
The residential development is based on the car-free zone concept. Above-ground parking spaces are located along the site perimeter. The houses along the site perimeter form a safety and privacy boundary. At the same time, all internal spaces realized as a uniform green garden are freely available for residents.
The architecture is designed so as to feel the harmony, find balance and equilibrium in nature. This effect is reinforced by house plans with terraced apartments and green facades. Large glazed staircases serve to blur the boundaries allowing to admire nature from the comfort of one’s home.
The project’s minimalism lies in the elegance of its forms. Lightly colored facades in combination with large windows make the buildings airy and breezy. The color palette is simple but not monotonous as textures and fabrics interplay with each other and the light during the day.
The roofs are made in the irimoya-zukuri style (characteristic of traditional Japanese architecture) to introduce Asian flavors, set the mood, and distinguish the project from the background.
